SANTIAGO, Nov 8 (Reuters) -Consumer prices in Chile rose 1.0% in October, data from statistics agency INE showed on Friday, above the 0.6% expected by economists polled by Reuters.

Annual inflation in the world's largest copper producer hit 4.7% in October, INE added, up from the 4.1% reported in the previous month.

Nine of the thirteen divisions that make up the consumer price index posted increases in the month, with the biggest impact coming from housing and basic services, which recorded a 3.1% rise.

Among the groups that had monthly price declines, equipment and maintenance stood out with a 1.5% drop.

Last month , the central bank cut borrowing costs by 25 basis points to 5.25%, extending an easing cycle since the middle of last year. The bank predicted further cuts if the copper-producing country's economic picture remains stable.
