BENGALURU, Sept 4 (Reuters) -India's benchmark indexes opened lower on Wednesday, dragged by information technology stocks and tracking a drop in Asian shares on resurgent worries over growth in the United States.

The Nifty 50 index .NSEI fell 0.7% at 25,106.15, while the S&P BSE Sensex .BSESN was down 0.65% at 82,001.2 as of 9:21 a.m. IST.

All 13 major sectors logged losses. Information technology companies .NIFTYIT, which earn a significant share of their revenues from the U.S., lost 1.6% and were the top sectoral losers.

Tepid U.S. manufacturing data has spurred worries about a potential slowdown in the world's largest economy.

Asian shares fell on Wednesday, with the MSCI Asia ex-Japan index .MIAPJ0000PUS losing about 2%, tracking a decline in Wall Street equities overnight. MKTS/GLOB

A slew of U.S. economic data is due this week, including readings on job openings, jobless claims and the closely-watched nonfarm payrolls report on Friday.
