DEBT

Italy's Treasury said on Monday it would sell up to 9 billion euros in bonds at a June 13 auction, including a new three-year BTP.


French and Italian borrowing costs touched multi-month highs on Monday and the premium investors demand to hold the countries' bonds rose after eurosceptics gained in a EU-wide vote and France called a snap parliamentary election.


ECONOMY

Bank of Italy releases April data on Italian residents deposits with domestic banks, banks lending to non-financial companies and gross bad loans at Italian banks.


COMPANIES

Morgan Stanley cut its recommendation to 'equal-weight' from 'overweight' and raised its target price to 7.7 euros from 7.1 euros.

The company said on Monday it held 10,781,802 own shares, or 0.825% of its share capital, after having completed the first tranche of its buy-back programme. The shares were bought at an average price of 12.80 euros for a total value of around €14.9 million euros.

The engineering group has completely left Russia and is now focusing on the Middle East and Asia, Chairman Fabrizio Di Amato told Il Giornale in an interview published on Tuesday.

The Italian bad loan manager said on Tuesday a high court in Madrid rejected an appeal by Altamira against a decision that required it to make a payment to Dovalue related to a tax claim. As a result, Dovalue will record a financial gain of 22.7 million euros, impacting net income by about 0.28 euros per share in the first half of 2024, the statement added.
