Stand-out FX option strike expiries for the week ahead

June 28 (Reuters) -The cash hedging of soon-to-expire FX option strikes can have a magnetic effect on FX price action and add to nearby support/resistance. There are some huge strikes worth noting for Friday June 28 and larger strikes for the week ahead.

Stand-out EUR/USD strikes expiring on Monday are at 1.0685 on 1.3 billion euros and at 1.0700 on 2.6 billion euros. Wednesday has a massive 5 billion euros between 1.0675 and 1.0700, while Friday has 1.5 billion euros at 1.0700.

The largest USD/CHF strike expiries are on Monday at 0.9070 on $800 million and 0.9150 on $1.4 billion. Tuesday sees 0.8900 on $500 million and Wednesday has0.8800 on $2.8 billion, 0.8965 on $809 million, 0.9000-15 on $1.1 billion and 0.9050 on 1.1 billion. Larger EUR/CHF strike expiries are on Monday at 0.9600 on 514 million euros and Tuesday at 0.9635 on 423 million euros and 0.9655 on 690 million euros.

There is nothing substantial in GBP/USD so far until Friday July 5, with 1.2605 strikes on 533 million pounds and strikes between 1.2645-60 on 685 million pounds. The largest EUR/GBP strike expiry next week is on Monday at 0.8500 on 335 milion euros.

EUR/SEK has 1 billion euros expiring at 11.60 on Wednesday and EUR/NOK shows 400 million 11.41 strikes expiring on Tuesday.

AUD/USD strike expiries are largest on Thursday between 0.6625-50 on A$1.4 billion, and for NZD/USD there is a massive NZ$ 1.5 billion 0.6130 strike expiry on Thursday.

USD/CAD strike option expiries are on Tuesday between 1.3625-35 on $1.5 billion, Wednesday at 1.3660 on $740-million and on Friday between 1.3660-90 on $1.4 billion.

Larger USD/JPY strike expiries are currently limited to Tuesday at 159.50 on $1.2 billion and Wednesday at 160.20-25 on $1.1 billion. EUR/JPY has two big strikes on Friday at 169.50 on 882 million euros and 171.90 on 906 million euros.
