KYIV, Nov 6 (Reuters) -Indicative export prices for Ukrainian sunflower seeds continued to rise, adding another $15-$30 per metric ton over the past seven days and reaching $505-$535 on a Carriage Paid To (CPT) basis as of Nov. 6, APK-Inform said on Wednesday.

The consultancy has said that lower sunseed harvest combined with strong demand from exporters and sunflower oil refineries were the main reason for the rise in prices.

Ukrainian sunseed cost $480-$490 per ton CPT as of Oct. 23 and $445-$455 as of Oct. 9.

APK-Inform said Ukraine was likely to harvest 13.8 million tons of sunseed in 2024 versus 15.1 million tons in 2023. It noted that 13.4 million tons of sunseed could be processed in 2024/25 compared with 15.1 million a season earlier.

Ukraine is a global major sunflower oil producer and exporter and local sunoil producers' union forecast that sunoil exports could fall to 5.2 million tons in 2024/25 compared with 6.2 million tons in 2023/24.

Ukrainian grain traders union UGA said this week the country exported 458,000 tons of sunoil in October 2024 versus 374,000 tons a year ago.
