ISTANBUL, Oct 3 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.

The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.2325 against the U.S. dollar as of 0417 GMT, unchanged from Wednesday.

The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 3.62% lower at 9,012.87 points on Wednesday.


GLOBAL MARKETS

Japanese stocks jumped and the yen fell on Thursday as the risk of further tightening in monetary policy this year faded, while the sizzling rally in Hong Kong's share market took a breather.


ERDOGAN

President Tayyip Erdogan will chair the National Security Council meeting in Ankara.(1200 GMT)


PARLIAMENT SPEAKER

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will hold a joint news conference with North Macedonian counterpart Afrim Gashi.(1045 PM)


OPPOSITION

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Ozgur Ozel will visit southern province of Antalya.


AKP DEPUTY CHAIR

AK Party Deputy Chair Omer Ileri will hold a news conference at his party's headquarters.(0700 GMT)

Defence Minister Yasar Guler will attend an opening ceremony for the academic year at National Defence University.(0630 GMT)
