The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.1775 against the U.S. dollar at 0408 GMT, little changed from a close of 34.1750 on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Chinese stocks are headed for the best week since 2008 as Beijing rolled out a huge stimulus package to revive the economy, lifting Asian shares to 2-1/2-year highs, while a sharp fall in oil prices bodes well for disinflation globally.
NEW YORK MAYOR
U.S. prosecutors on Thursday charged New York City Mayor Eric Adams with accepting illegal campaign contributions and luxury travel from Turkish nationals seeking to influence him, capping an investigation that has sent the largest U.S. city's government into turmoil.
