Ubisoft slides as event cancellations might suggest issues with upcoming game release
** Shares in Ubisoft UBIP.PA are down 3% after falling as much as 6.9% earlier in the session, after it cancelled its participation in the Tokyo Game Show and a press preview for its upcoming release Assassin's Creed Shadows
** Midcap analyst Charles-Louis Planade says Ubisoft pulling out of the event is "strange and above all worrying", as it is just a short time before the scheduled release of AC Shadows which is set in Japan
** Planade adds it seems the group feared a negative reception from certain groups who felt that the game did not respect the history of the samurai
** The cancellation of the press preview for AC Shadows, set to be released on Nov. 15, also prompted fears that the release date could be postponed, he says
** Contacted by Reuters, Ubisoft was not immediately available for comment
** Ubisoft's stock price has nearly halved since the start of the year
