UK's Whitbread tops FTSE 100 on Bernstein upgrade to 'outperform'
** Shares of British hotel group Whitbread WTB.L up 3.7% at 2,936p; top gainer on the FTSE 100 index .FTSE
** Bernstein upgrades WTB to "outperform" from "market-perform" and raises PT to 3,300p from 3,140p
** Brokerage prefers hotel stocks over online travel agencies post Q2, especially those boosted by business travel and international growth outside the U.S. and China
** Adds WTB's earnings could stabilize due to recovering revenue per available room, slowing inflation, and easier comparisons in the second half of the year
** Including session's gains, stock down 19.7% YTD
