Aug 9 (Reuters) -Italian financial group Unipol UNPI.MI posted on Friday a 7% comparable yearly rise in its first-half net profit to 555 million euros ($606.12 million), bolstered by the performance from non-life business.

The net result includes contributions from its stakes in lenders BPER EMII.MI and Banca Popolare di Sondrio BPSI.MI for the first quarter of 2024.

On the basis of the recent financial information published by the companies as of June 30, the figure stood at 632 million euros.

Unipol's direct insurance income came in at 8.2 billion euros, with non-life income bringing in 4.6 billion euros, up 7.8% year-on-year.

The insurance group also said it expected its full-year income from consolidated operating activities to be in line with the targets set in its 2022-2024 strategic plan.
