US Cash Grains-Corn basis rises as harvest nears end
Nov 5 (Reuters) -Basis bids for corn rose at processing sites and river terminals in the U.S. Midwest on Tuesday as USDA data showed the harvest nearing completion while export demand continued to be solid.
* The corn basis rose by 5 cents at a river terminal in Morris, Illinois, and an elevator in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
* It rose by 2 cents at a processor in Decatur, Illinois.
* The soybean basis also rose by 3 cents at the river terminal in Morris.
* Export demand continued to be strong with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reporting exporters sold 124,000 metric tons of corn to unknown destinations on Tuesday.
* USDA data released on Monday after the close of trading showed the U.S. corn harvest was 91% complete and the U.S. soybean harvest was 94% complete.
* On the CBOT, December corn futures CZ24 finished 2 cents higher at $4.18-1/2 per bushel, while benchmark January soybeans SF25 were 4-1/2 cents higher at $10.01-3/4 per bushel at the close of trading. GRA/
