LONDON, June 12 (Reuters) -Light sweet crudes, such as those on offer from West African countries, are losing out to competition from similar U.S. crude streams in Europe, a trader on Wednesday said.

* Competition has been stiff to place or sell lighter crude, but sellers are hoping for a stronger market going into late July loading to capitalise on the summer driving season, traders have said.

* Nigerian Qua Iboe, for instance, was offered at between dated Brent plus $2.50 and $2.80 a barrel for late July loading, the trader said. Qua offers were heard to be under dated Brent plus $1 earlier this week.

* Angolan crude sales have stagnated too, the trader added, with roughly ten July cargoes still on offer days ahead of the country's August programme emerging.
