FRANKFURT, Oct 17 (Reuters) -French prompt power jumped on Thursday, as day-ahead wind power output was seen coming in at a mere third of current levels in Germany and losing a fifth in France, with solar supply down overall.

"Renewable supply keeps plummeting in Germany, thus backing a bullish signal," said LSEG analyst Riccardo Parviero, while adding that gas and coal plant availability was increasing in the region.

French baseload power for the day-ahead TRFRBD1 was up 38.9% from its previous close at 73.3 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) by 0750 GMT, LSEG data showed.

The equivalent German contract TRDEBYZ5 had not traded, having settled at 70.5 euros on Wednesday.

Wind power generation in Germany is set to fall to 6.6 gigawatts (GW) on Friday from 22.5 GW forecast for Thursday, while in France, the projected volume is seen falling to 3.8 GW from 4.8 GW in the same period.

French nuclear capacity availability remained at 71% of the installed total. POWER/FR

Temperatures were set to go down by over 2 degrees Celsius in France day-on-day, prompting an anticipated uptick in demand there by 500 MW to 46.2 GW on Friday.

The average temperature in Germany was seen dropping by 0.5 degrees, with demand due to edge down by 200 MW to stand at 56.8 GW.

Along the forwards curve, German front year baseload TRDEBYZ5 did not change hands but saw higher asking prices compared with the previous close of 86.95 euros/MWh.

The equivalent French contract was also untraded after closing at 74.4 euros/MWh.

In the European carbon market CFI2Zc1, the benchmark contract rose by 0.2% to 63.17 euros a metric ton.

European power purchase agreements (PPA) for green electricity decreased in price by 12.4% in the third quarter compared with the same time in 2023, price tracking platform LevelTen said.
