Oct 16 (Reuters) -U.S. cash crude grades eased on Wednesday, dealers said, even as crude oil stocks fell last week.

Crude stocks fell by 1.58 million barrels in the week ended Oct. 11, market sources said, citing American Petroleum Institute figures on Wednesday.

Gasoline inventories fell by 5.93 million barrels, and distillate stocks dropped by 2.67 million barrels, they said. U.S. crude oil and fuel stocks fell last week, they said.

The Brent/WTI spread WTCLc1-LCOc1 widened 13 cents to last trade at minus $4.37, after hitting a high of minus $4.20 and a low of minus $4.40.

A wider spread boosts foreign purchases of U.S. crude.

In refining news, Phillips 66 PSX.N said it plans to stop operations at its Los Angeles-area refinery in the fourth quarter of 2025.
