ISTANBUL, Oct 31 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was trading at 34.2995 at 0428 GMT after closing at 34.2840 on Wednesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.68% higher at 9,006.55 points on Wednesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks slid on Thursday as chip-sector stocks tracked overnight declines by Wall Street peers and Facebook owner Meta Platforms META.O warned of accelerating costs for artificial intelligence.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE
President Tayyip Erdogan will host his Senegalese counterpart Bassirou Diomaye Faye in Ankara for bilateral talks (1200 GMT). Leaders will then hold a news conference and sign agreements between the two countries (1345 GMT)
BUDGET DISCUSSIONS
Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will attend draft 2025 budget discussions in parliament's planning and budget commission. (0700 GMT)
ECONOMIC INDICATORS
The Turkish Statistical Institute announces service producers prices index, trade statistics and third quarter tourism data (0700 GMT)
CENTRAL BANK DATA TRNFR=ECI
The central bank will release its weekly data, including on forex reserves. (1130 GMT)
FOREIGN ARRIVALS TRTARR=ECI
The Tourism Ministry is scheduled to release foreign arrivals data for September. (0800 GMT)
BORROWING PROGRAMME
The Treasury will announce its domestic borrowing programme for the November-January period. (1400 GMT)
