EUROPE RISES ON STRONGER MINING, AUTOS, BUT EARNINGS DRAG
Europe's STOXX 600 is up 0.6%, as mining and autos lift the index, offsetting the impact of some disappointing earnings across sectors, while aero and defence return some of the gains made on Wednesday.
A basket of basic resources stocks SXPP is up 2.7%, with Anglo American AAL.L and Rio Tinto RIO.L both up 2.7%. Autos .SXAP is another top sectoral riser, up 2% and all but regaining Wednesday's losses after the U.S. election result raised fears of punitive tariffs.

In the UK, John Wood Group WG.L shares have lost almost half of their value this morning, down 47% after the British oilfield services company said its order book fell 8% year-on-year.
Also flashing red are ITV ITV.L, down 7.1% and Auto Trader AUTOA.L, down 5.3% after posting results.
The same is true for the UK's Wizz Air, down 6%. Air France KLM-SA AIRF.PA is down 10% after reporting a bigger-than-expected drop in its quarterly operating result on Thursday. International Consolidated Airlines ICAG.L is down 3.4%.
UK payments company CAB Payments is down 18.4% after after U.S. rival StoneX Group SNEX.O pulled out of takeover talks. Dutch payments company Adyen is another big loser, off 6.5%.
