ISTANBUL, Oct 17 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 34.2410 against the U.S. dollar at 0500 GMT, compared with Wednesday's close of 34.1600.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.08% higher at 8,956.03 points on Wednesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares surrendered early gains on Thursday as a housing policy briefing in China underwhelmed investors, while the dollar stood near 2-1/2 month highs on the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency.
VICE PRESIDENT
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend 2025 government budget ceremony.(1300 GMT)
PARLIAMENT SPEAKER
Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will hold a joint news conference with his Hungarian counterpart László Kövér in Ankara.(0915 GMT)
